First Trip Home to South Georgia
We went to Bainbridge January 24 to see my family. It was a fun trip. We got to spend time with "mema" and "papa", see my Aunt Deborah and Uncle Mike, Great Grandma Davis and of course Becky, Bruce and Jackson.
Jackson was so good around Haley. Of course he kept asking for "Mar-Mar" (that's me) to come see stuff because he wanted some attention, but I didn't mind at all. It was cute! He is so big!
Big Cousin Jackson was so sweet and gave Haley a kiss while she was sleeping and Aunt Becky was holding her. It was really cute. He is going to be a great big cousin!
"Papa" ate up the time with Haley while she was home. "Mema" barely got any time to hold her because daddy was holding her so much. It was really great seeing everyone so happy to see her!
Oh the big news was that Haley is the "cow whisperer". I took her out to see the cows and she started crying. I figured the cows would run away, but no, they came running to the fence. Even the bull came within inches of her. It was awesome. Mike got it on video. It will be a fun story to tell her when she is older. Fun, fun trip home! (Although we won't mention it took us over 6 hours to get back to the house that Sunday. Haley did not enjoy her ride back to Winder).

Haley's 2 Month Check-Up
Haley went for her two month check-up Feb. 4 and she got a good check-up! She had four shots, two in each leg. (the video gives a little glimpse of how upset she got!)
See...I told you it was bad!
It was terrible seeing her get so upset while getting them but she was already smiling before she left the doctor's office. She weighed 10 lb. 14.3 oz! She was 22 inches long. The doctor was really pleased with her and that she was showing all of the developmental signs she should be for her age. She is smiling, cooing, and holding her head all by herself. It is absolutely amazing(and sad) how fast they grow!

Haley's First Christmas
Haley must have been really good in 2008 because Santa sure brought her a lot of presents!
Grandma and Grandpa P came over Christmas Eve day.
We opened a mountain of presents Christmas Eve and then had her stocking Christmas Day morning. Grandpa Parsons couldn't resist getting Haley her first softball bat. It was really cute...
We started a new tradition with Haley by reading her "The Night Before Christmas".
Uncle Andy did a great job of multitasking (babysitting Haley and holding his beer!) :)
Grandma Parsons barely found time to open her presents since she kept volunteering for baby duty! Haley loved every minute of it though.
She got a ton of cool things for Christmas but the hit of the night was the Ocean Wonders crib mobile that Uncle Andy got her. She stared at it for the longest time when we put her in her crib. It was really cute.
Mema and Papa arrived around 4pm on Christmas Day. Her favorite present from them was the Rainforest Floor Activity Mat. All of the colors and sounds have been a real treat to use to entertain her and she loves it. So we can't decide if she is going to be an oceanographer or a wildlife explorer! Mama had her a special present and had made her a fleece Georgia blanket. I know it had to take her forever to make but it was so sweet. I know Haley will love it and wear it out for many years to come!
Daddy had fun holding his granddaughter most of the night. Her onesie so accurately said "Who needs Santa, I have grandparents"!
You couldn't even see Haley for all of the presents! Can we say SPOILED?? But she is so cute you can't resist!
After a long night of opening presents, Haley curled up in the fetal position on papa's lap. I think daddy enjoyed the chance to take a nap too!
We know it was the first (and most likely last) Christmas with both of our families in our home, but it was so nice celebrating this little one in our own home. Christmas had a whole new meaning this year with Haley to celebrate with us. I can't imagine a more special gift.

Rub a Dub Dub...Haley's First Bath
Haley did great for her first bath in the tub! It is a group effort though because she likes us both to be there. Mike gets the water ready and sets her towel out and bathes her, I keep her entertained during bathtime, lotion, and get her clothes back on after I warm them in front of the heater. Oh the life of a newborn...

She continues to enjoy her night time baths with mommy and daddy too. She loves the warm water and almost fell asleep last night while we were bathing her! Two things she doesn't like...having her face washed and when we have to wash her armpits! She is very ticklish there! We are having so much fun with her every night. She is always wide awake after bath time, so I am not sure how "calming" the bedtime bath products are!
