Time Flies-Haley is 4 months!

I can't believe Haley is already 4 months old!! Time flies with a baby that is for sure. She is getting so strong too! Just a few weeks ago she was still struggling to keep her head up but look at her now! She is consistently showing that she is a big girl and can hold her head up on her own.
She is such a happy girl and smiles all of the time. It is so rewarding to see her respond to us speaking to her with a smile.
She is starting to grasp things (and shake them violently). She loves her activity mat and all of the "dangly things" that she can grab at.
We decided to take a "family shot" on her 4 month birthday. I know, we need a professional shot, but this one was pretty fun, especially if you see the series of about 6 that we took!
She loves her little Georgia rattle so much...
She already has her daddy wrapped around her little finger, but with a face like that, it is not surprising!
She loves her two little "lovies", Pooh and Bonnie the Long Eared Rabbit. She loves to feel of the textures and rattle them.
I didn't think photos of Haley and I exist, but we are trying to make sure we capture some of our special mommy/daughter times.
Just had to put this photo on because I am sure we will see many more of this sly little "I didn't do it" look from her in years to come.
Mike and I are so very blessed to have such a beautiful little girl to call our own.

Strolling Around the Neighborhood

One of the best parts of being at home with Haley the last few weeks was getting to go on stroller walks with her when the weather was nice. My really good friend Nina who lives next door has a 6 month old and it was so much fun walking in the neighborhood with the kids. Haley had a laid back approach to the walks, as she lounged in a recliner position unbuckled, wild and kicking in the seat. Clayton, however, was much more structured and sat calmly buckled into his seat to take in the view, occasionally audibilizing as we strolled around the neighborhood. It was one of the things I was going to miss going back to work, but with the time change, it has afforded me the daylight to go for walks later in the day so we went this week and it was a nice way to decompress from the day and spend time with a friend. Haley loves the walks as you can tell from the photo!!

Haley's First Week at School

March 3 was Haley's first day at daycare. She is staying at Kids R Kids in Bogart. Haley did fine but her mommy was a different story! That was absolutely the hardest thing I have ever had to do as a mommy.

The great news was that we were blessed with a snow day on Monday (I know, snow in Georgia in May...pretty funny). But Tuesday morning came and I dreaded the trip to the daycare. She did great though and of course all of the teachers love her. She has Vicki, Elizabeth, Courtney, and Angie. She is in the "blue group" which is where they put all the great kids! :) This is a photo of her crib. She loves the mobile on it. Her teachers said that the only time she cried the first day was when it quit going in circles!Haley LOVES the swing at daycare and the mobile on it as well. When I came to pick her up Tuesday afternoon, this was what I saw! She was clearly entertained.
The best thing about this daycare is that it has an online viewing room which allows you to sign in at any time during business hours and see what Haley is up to. You can even go back in time to see things as well. This made the first week much easier so that I at least knew what she was doing at any time during the day. The other great development of the week is that she has started sleeping through the night! 3 out of 4 nights her first week she slept all night. We are so proud of her.

First Trip Home to South Georgia

We went to Bainbridge January 24 to see my family. It was a fun trip. We got to spend time with "mema" and "papa", see my Aunt Deborah and Uncle Mike, Great Grandma Davis and of course Becky, Bruce and Jackson.

Jackson was so good around Haley. Of course he kept asking for "Mar-Mar" (that's me) to come see stuff because he wanted some attention, but I didn't mind at all. It was cute! He is so big!Big Cousin Jackson was so sweet and gave Haley a kiss while she was sleeping and Aunt Becky was holding her. It was really cute. He is going to be a great big cousin!"Papa" ate up the time with Haley while she was home. "Mema" barely got any time to hold her because daddy was holding her so much. It was really great seeing everyone so happy to see her!Oh the big news was that Haley is the "cow whisperer". I took her out to see the cows and she started crying. I figured the cows would run away, but no, they came running to the fence. Even the bull came within inches of her. It was awesome. Mike got it on video. It will be a fun story to tell her when she is older. Fun, fun trip home! (Although we won't mention it took us over 6 hours to get back to the house that Sunday. Haley did not enjoy her ride back to Winder).

Haley's 2 Month Check-Up

Haley went for her two month check-up Feb. 4 and she got a good check-up! She had four shots, two in each leg. (the video gives a little glimpse of how upset she got!)

See...I told you it was bad!

It was terrible seeing her get so upset while getting them but she was already smiling before she left the doctor's office. She weighed 10 lb. 14.3 oz! She was 22 inches long. The doctor was really pleased with her and that she was showing all of the developmental signs she should be for her age. She is smiling, cooing, and holding her head all by herself. It is absolutely amazing(and sad) how fast they grow!

Haley's 6 Week Photo Shoot

My good friend Blane took Haley's 6 week photos a couple of weeks back. I thought I would share some of the best ones. Haley continues to grow and show more and more personality. She started smiling and it is precious. We are enjoying every day with her so much!!

Our little princess!!
